Job Description
The Segment Manager, Fiber Based Packaging will have responsibility for identifying, developing and implementing sales opportunities globally. The Segment Manager will help support and contribute to the success of fiber packaging Sales and profitability through the Unisource Global Solutions (UGS) Business Development, Sourcing and Engineering organizations. In addition, this role will consult, advise, support & collaborate with key stakeholders in the deployment of new products, price strategies, and other initiatives aimed at improving overall UGS profitability and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
* Support and add value to the Business Development Organization in driving customer success, Globally
* Assist in Growing top line sales and margin dollars
* Supporting and implementing UGS programs for strategic packaging substrates and solutions
* Define and implement strategies and programs around fiber commodities by giving focus to
* Profitable sales growth
* Pricing
* Core Supplier Management
* Customer Value
* Build complex cost models
* Manage Bio Fiber Based Product Strategies for such commodities as:
* Corrugated and Container Board
* Pulp Based Products such as Molded Trays
* Raw Material Expertise: Paper, Kraft Paper, Bamboo, Straw, Reed, other Plant based Packaging Raw Materials
* Folding Carton
* SBS and CCNB Applications
* Consult and Support Design Engineering and New Product Development
* Partner with the Global Supply Chain and Sourcing Teams on optimizing the pricing and supply for Raw material and finished goods
* Assist in Qualification of new Suppliers
Required Skills
* Ability to understand and manage Market Pricing strategies
* Customer Facing Skills for Solution Selling process Support (like a Corrugated Specialist)
* Strong Excel and Analytical Skills
* Strong Project Management Skills
* Ability to effectively assist in closing customer revenue opportunities and strategically effect organizational profitability
* Strong business acumen with excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business priorities and assignments
* Strong data modeling skills
Required Experience
* College degree in related field
* 10+ years experience in the packaging industry
* Bio Fiber Based Product expertise
* Corrugated and Container Board
* Pulp Based Products such as Molded Trays
* Raw Material Expertise: Paper, Kraft Paper, Bamboo, Straw, Reed, other Plant based Packaging Raw Materials
* Folding Carton
* SBS and CCNB Applications
* Structural Design or Manufacturing Experience in some or all of the commodities noted
* Basic Understanding of Print and Graphic Applications
* Knowledge of Global Supply Chain Dynamics for Raw material
* Manufacturing and Converting Experience
* Key cost component understanding that drive finished good packaging pricing for Fiber based products
* Ability to travel and work in a Global, Multi-cultural business climate
